# Download YDB CLI

[YDB CLI](https://ydb.tech/docs/en/reference/ydb-cli/index.md?version=main) (`ydb`) is a command-line utility for working with YDB databases. It is distributed under the [Apache 2.0 license](https://github.com/ydb-platform/ydb/blob/main/LICENSE).

The recommended way to install YDB CLI is by using the [installation script](https://ydb.tech/docs/en/reference/ydb-cli/install.md?version=main). The script automatically downloads the appropriate binary and adds it to your `PATH`.
